Dark Wolves and Werewolves for Silver Bayonet

Very quick post on the completed Dark Wolves and Werewolves for the first solo mission of Silver Bayonet. I'm going to work through the missions and paint up the monsters for each so I'll have most of the options avaliable for the random creature event table.

These are incredibly cheap models from Northstar, £7.50 for 5 but the quality is not that fantastic. With that said after a few trials I think these have come out fairly decent. They are very basic tabletop but they do blend with my Werewolves at least. They will die in droves anyway and probably spend more time off the table than on, so I'm not too precious.

Ready to chew on some Russians!

Thats another load to add to the painted list, and with that March over. Next will be the Vampires and some Revenants, but I'll be uploading the start of my Silver Bayonet Campaign this week.

I do plan on doing a French Warband also soon, as mentioned previously I'm keeping the context of this campaign during Russia in 1812.

Cheers

More Silver Bayonet Progress

Some more small progress this month, but the hobby mojo is back at least.

I've been chipping away at my Russians and I am nearly there with all the painted unit profiles/options I want avaliable. In other news, I finally found a decent paint scheme for the wolves (as average as the sculpts are). Expect those to come up in the next day or so. This means I can finally play the first solo mission for Silver Bayonet and I'm looking forward to it. One of my resolutions this year was to play more games, so I'm eagerly pushing on with the painting queue.

I've also got the Vampires nearly base coated and ready for shading. I'll need to pick up some Revenants also for Mission 2, but will likely see if they have any at Salute in a couple of weeks.

From left to right: Rifleman (Painted as Russo-German Legion), Cuirassier, Supernatural Investigator, Infantryman.

Some WIP Vampires, suitably Russian looking

Will push another update out tommorrow regarding the finished Wolves/Werewolves. Expect a few Battle reports within the next 1-2 weeks!

As always thanks for reading.

Quick March Update for Silver Bayonet

Been a few weeks so I thought I'd get a post up.

I feel like its been unproductive, but its been a mish mash of waiting for models to arrive and trying some new schemes for models. Although I didn't get a lot painted I'm nearly at a point where I can game and get some Battle Reports up.

Primarily I've been focused on Silver Bayonet and have started painting up the monsters for a solo campaign. Also had on order various bits and bobs for terrain, which I definitely have enough to start now.

Some werewolves for Mission 1 of the Campaign, quite happy with how they turned out.

Pavlov Grenadier

Some cool Napoleonic cards and tokens for the game system.

Picked up some Northstar Russians as its the same Sculptor for Silver Bayonet. These can be good for Infantrymen.

I've also started work on some Russian themed Vampires and Revenants for mission 2 of the rulebook.

Salute is nearly here also, so I'm purging a load of models/projects that never got off the ground (looking at my AWI collection still sat in boxes). In other news I've been slowly becoming interested in the War of 1812, it seems a real niche between AWI and ACW. With that said the focus on small skirmishes/Naval combats and some really unique Napoleonic uniforms is proving interesting. There is some really good resources and books coming out for this recently. Something to consider for the latter half of the year perhaps, as the Napoleonic bug has still not gone away.
