Silver Bayonet Beginnings

So what have we been up too?

I'm putting the final touches on my Russian Sharp Practice list, literally small details here and there but the overall models are done. Been at it for 3+ months, time to move onto something else as I can always come back. I'll be hopefully getting a game up for this soon on a scenario we've been play testing.

Finally moved onto some Silver Bayonet and had a hell of a time painting these models. Absolutely gorgeous chunky sculpts, big details, just a real pleasure to paint. I am very happy how these came out. Silver Bayonet is ticking all the boxes for me currently:

  • Small model count/entry point
  • Solo/Coop or Multiplayer narrative gaming
  • Napoleonic's + Horror = Cool

I've really been wanting to do a Retreat from Moscow project at some point, but snow based projects are a bit of a risky en-devour.

1. Models look awful on any other board if they are snow based
2. Can't decide between Perry/Front Rank models for here

With that said a Silver Bayonet campaign during this setting would be amazing. French Deserters/Russian Partisans and big nasty monsters. Sounds absolutely great. Northstar also have their "Muskets and Tomahawks" models which is the same sculptor for the Silver Bayonet warbands. Lets just say, this is definitely a possibility as a project later this year.

I'm particularly interested also in the War of 1812, and setting a Silver Bayonet project in this period also. Plenty of thoughts to ponder on!

Some photos of my Russian Warband accompanied by their Don Cossack officer, and the first of our test games.

Expect lots more of these soon as I'm plowing through more on my desk!
